Child Rights & Conflict Transformation with the Kenya Alliance for the Advancement of Child Rights (KAACR)
Skylight 2019 is excited to host a group of global partner guests from Kenya. Representing the Kenya Alliance for the Advancement of Children (KAACR), this delegation is made up of Child Right Defenders from across Kenya. The delegation is composed of young adults who were members of child rights clubs during their primary and secondary school education. Most group members are currently pursuing different courses and careers at colleges, while some are already engaged in official employment. Because of the empowerment received from KAACR training on child rights, the group is still engaged in active child rights advocacy in schools and at the community level. Some of the activities of child rights defenders in Kenya are supported by the United Church of Canada.

The group meets every month to review and plan on how to engage government and other stakeholders on how to advance the interests of children. Some of the activities undertaken by the group include charitable activities targeting children in children institutions, conflict and peace resolution, capacity building training on life skills and child rights for children, teachers and community members. The group is very excited and grateful to the support received from the United Church of Canada which has contributed immensely to social order and peaceful coexistence among different ethnic groups in Kenya.

Queer Clergy Trading Cards
Queer Clergy Trading Cards (QCTC) disrupt the assumption that “queer” and “faithful” are different ends of a spectrum.  They portray faith leaders at the intersection of humor and passion, inviting a faithful irreverence about the work that we do for the sake of the Gopsel.  Come and see different cards, and play a game together about how to use the Super Powers and kryptonite of these leaders to solve any problem.
Dream with us about your walk out song, super power, or kryptonite! And finally- learn what difference queer clergy are making in the faith and in the world.
